The spirit of one of the greatest French writers
The Hotel Balzac occupies the site of the last residence of the writer Honoré de Balzac on a street once called Avenue Fortunée. He lived there with Madame Hanska, the love of his life, until his death a few months after their marriage, writing until his last breath. Madame Hanska's mansion no longer exists, but today, the Hotel Balzac revives the spirit of one of the most talented observers of 19th-century Parisian life.
